Indigenous Knowledge, Cultural Practices, Elder Services and Traditional Teachings, Made Accessible

Integrate Culture with Respect and Integrity

Our cultural services support organizations and communities in accessing Indigenous cultural knowledge, expertise and learning experiences with integrity, respect and in a manner that is culturally safe for Elders and Knowledge Keepers.

We support you to connect with the appropriate expertise and empower Knowledge Keepers to bring cultural knowledge and experiences to your events, programming and projects.

Supporting Culturally Safer Research

A team of 15 Indigenous researchers at the University of British Columbia (UBC) were tasked with the profound responsibility of reviewing residential school records as part of a provincial initiative. Recognizing the emotional weight of this work, LPC was invited to provide culturally grounded emotional and spiritual support. Through the presence of an Elder, cultural teachings, and ongoing care, researchers were supported to navigate the complexity and depth of this task in a way that honoured their wellness and spirit.

Key Impacts:

  • Delivered culturally relevant support to move through emotionally heavy and important work

  • Fostered safer conditions for Indigenous researchers to engage with trauma-informed research practices

Cultural Learning Opportunities

Our cultural workshops immerse participants in Indigenous knowledge systems, histories and ways of being, allowing learners to deepen cultural knowledge from Coast Salish and other territories across Turtle Island. This learning is not about how to do decolonization. This work is decolonization. It is the resurgence of Indigenous storytelling, histories, and knowledge across space and relationships.

Land-Based Learning

LPC is proud to partner with Loon Lake Lodge and Retreat Centre at the UBC Malcolm Knapp Research Forest, situated within the traditional and unceded territory of the Katzie First Nation, to offer land-based educational experiences grounded in Indigenous knowledge systems.
