Environmental Sustainability Teachings

This session introduces participants to environmental sustainability from a Coast Salish worldview. Learners will explore how ancestral knowledge, the 13-moon calendar, and interdependence of all life form a framework for understanding invasive species, stewardship, and ecological balance.

• Explore the Indigenous food web and the interdependence of all life.

• Identify invasive species vs. traditional wildlife through an Indigenous lens.

• Understand Coast Salish perspectives of environmental stewardship guided by the 13-moon calendar and ancestral knowledge.
